Community Awareness
Annually, our church participates in various community events held in the town of Aurora:
The first weekend in June, we can be found actively speaking with passersby at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Street Festival, providing them with cold bottles of water, a test of their pitching speed and biblical literature to refresh their spirits.
The Watoto Children's Choir from Kampala, Uganda are welcomed into our homes at the end of June, as they come to participate in our float for the Town of Aurora's Canada Day Parade. They delight the crowds with their enthusiasm and joyful songs, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In Summer 2010, our outreach included two Park and Praise events at Aurora's Town Park. Food and fellowship were enjoyed with our neighbours, as we gathered for a night of praise to our Lord, under the summer sky.
Each November, we join with other churches in our area as we gather for the Annual Aurora Mayor's Prayer Breakfast. This is a great time of Christian unity, as we pray for our Mayor and all the leaders in our community. Musicians and speakers have helped shape these events and encouraged the youth of our community to be involved and raised up as our future leaders.
At the end of November, as people turn their thoughts towards Christmas celebrations, we remind them of the reason for this season through a colourful display of the Nativity on our float in the Town Santa Claus Parade.
Friends, neighbours and our community are always welcome at our Community Dinners and many other events throughout the year.
